Duncan Gordon (Senior Solicitor)

Duncan graduated from Victoria University of Wellington (NZ) with a Bachelor of Laws and commenced work as a lawyer with one of New Zealand’s major commercial law firms.  He first worked in entertainment law in the early 1990s, including providing financing and other advice to New Zealand’s government funding agencies, the New Zealand Film Commission and NZ on Air.  Duncan is admitted to practise as an Australian legal practitioner and has worked in Australian film and television legal practise for a total of over 20 years.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of development, financing, production and distribution contracting for film, television and other audio-visual productions within the Australian independent film and television industry. Duncan also assists with production contracting for major US Studios which undertake motion picture production work in Australia.  He has also previously advised Australian Federal and State Government funding agencies (both the New South Wales Film and Television Office and Film Finance Corporation Australia) on their investment and other financing of film and television productions.
